Responsible for project management and the development of Fire Protection concepts used in the design of construction projects for both new and existing buildings. Performs engineering evaluations of alternative (equivalent) methods and concepts for meeting code issues in projects. Prepares reports documenting building code requirements and fire protection concepts for presentation to building officials and for use by the Project Design Team. Performs plan reviews of construction documents. Witnesses final testing of building fire protection systems. Quality control, client retention, and contract management are also foundational objectives.

Responsibilities include all facets of project management, client relations, contract administration, and quality control. Facilitator of the preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications and hydraulic calculations for the purpose of competitive bidding, permit application, and contracting. Project related responsibilities include all aspects of system layout, coordination with the architect and all other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing), review contractor cost proposals, review shop drawing submittals, perform field observations, and facilitate project close–out. Client retention, project constructability and contract management are foundational objectives.
